trying to switch ticket dates to 27,28,29 to be with the rest of my family but the dates are blacked out. is it still okay to just show up?

    Welcome to planDisney, Randeana,

How wonderful it would be for your whole family to be able to make it to the Disneyland Resort together. I’m happy to share information that may help make that possible for you.

Each Guest of the Disneyland Resort theme parks must have both valid theme park admission and a theme park reservation. Because theme park reservations are limited, they may run out, especially for more popular days. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort are often one of the more popular times to visit, which is likely why it appears that reservations for standard theme park tickets aren’t as available at this time. The same pools of park reservations apply whether the reservations are booked in advance or on the same day.

Here are my tips for securing park reservations when availability appears low:

    1. Keep checking the theme park reservation availability calendar. You never know when other Guests may need to change their plans. So when they cancel or modify their park reservations, you may be able to find an opening for you!
    2. If your schedule is flexible, consider visiting on a different day when demand for park reservations is lower. For example, at the moment, I’m seeing availability for Disney California Adventure Park on December 26, 2023, and one or both parks over New Year’s Eve weekend.
    3. If you are staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, be sure to book your park reservation starting from the "My Hotel Reservations" page. That will open up access to theme park reservations exclusively for hotel Guests, which often has additional availability.

I hope that gives some ideas for how you may make things work out for your plans to visit the Disneyland Resort soon, Randeana. Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney. We’d be glad to hear from you again if you have any more questions about visiting The Happiest Place on Earth!
