Trying to start online check in

    Hi Sheryl,

    Welcome to planDisney!

If you are trying to start Online Check-in, that means you are about to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort and that is cause to celebrate! To check-in, login to your My Disney Experience account and find your resort hotel or vacation package reservation. If you have not linked that reservation, just find the confirmation number (which should have been emailed) and link it now. You may have to refresh the page or log out and log back in to see the reservation linked.

If you are using the My Disney Experience Mobile App, click on the three bars in the bottom righthand of the screen and a menu of options should appear. Click on My Plans and, from there, you should be able to scroll through your plans and see your resort reservation. Underneath that reservation, either using the web version or the mobile app, you should see a link that says Start Check-in Now.

Once you click on that link, you will go through a few steps to check-in. In this process, I select mobile phone and email as ways to receive messages during my vacation. You can also indicate your resort arrival time and housekeeping options. And, you will need to link a credit card if you have not done so already.

Online check-in has been a wonderful tool to use for our visits. We appreciate receiving the notification that our room is ready, especially when that notification comes before we have arrived at the resort hotel! I also pay attention to that notification to check our room assignment. Since we typically request a specific room location, I verify that the room we have been assigned corresponds to that request. If it does not, I contact the number listed in the text or email message.

On our last visit in December, we were able to skip the front desk and go directly to our room once we received that message to say our room was ready! If you have MagicBands, you should be able to use those to unlock your room door. Or, try using the My Disney Experience Mobile App to unlock it.

Sheryl, I hope this helps! Be sure to read the Know Before You Go information on the website. Operational updates will be posted there. Sending you lots of pixie dust as you pack!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
