Hi Janet Lea!
Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so happy to hear that you're planning a special anniversary visit to Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate your happily ever after! There are so many great ways to celebrate with your Prince Charming and I'm delighted to share a few of my best tips!
Janet Lea, I love the idea of a resort-only stay! There is so much to see and do beyond the theme parks that guests often miss. If you're planning to spend most (or all) of your visit outside of the parks, I recommend spending a little more on your resort stay to enjoy everything a Deluxe Resort has to offer.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will truly feel like a romantic and luxurious escape. There are so many great restaurants here for special anniversary meals including Cítricos and Narcoossee's. If you want something even more memorable, you may want to consider a reservation at
Victoria and Albert's. You'll also find a variety of couples
spa services available where you can unwind and enjoy a little pampering. During the day, you can relax by one of the pools and enjoy watching the fireworks from Magic Kingdom Park each evening.
If you'd rather take a walk on the wild side,
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite resorts. We stayed in a savanna view room here and there is nothing quite like enjoying your morning coffee with a giraffe and zebra roaming outside of your room! You'll also find wonderful restarurant selections here with Sanaa and Boma, but I think
Jiko - The Cooking Place is my favorite. There's also a unique Enchanting Extras tour offered nightly from this resort - the
Starlight Safari. On this tour, you’ll embark on a nighttime ride around the savanna and use night-vision goggles to check out the animals! This tour is very popular so I recommend being ready to book as soon as your reservation window opens 60 days before your arrival.
Outside of your resort, there are several other great places to enjoy making magical memories together on your anniversary trip. My husband and I took a babymoon before the birth of our third child and chose to spend most of our time out of the parks as well. One of our favorite activities was playing golf at
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf. At Disney Springs, you'll find bowling at
Splitsville Luxury Lanes and
Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil available. If you're looking for something a bit more unique, a romantic ride on a
Vintage Amphicar Tour may also be fun!
Janet Lea, I hope this helps give you a few ideas to start planning a magical trip for you and your husband. If you have other questions or would like more recommendations, please feel free to stop by and see me or any of my panelist pals here at planDisney again!
Cheers,
Kristi
