Hello! Trying to reserve a table for 4 at Oga’s Cantina for my son’s 21st birthday. <his only request was this restaurant>. How do I go about getting day of reservations?

Bright suns, Melody. I see the Force has brought you to planDisney, for which I am so grateful. What a special celebration to be spending your son’s 21st birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth (I mean, Galaxy!) The Force is strong in my family, as it is in yours.

With the wisdom of Master Yoda, I am going to pass on what I have learned, as I was in a similar situation during our visit last December. We had been trying to get a reservation at Oga’s Cantina for weeks, to no avail. As we didn’t have an advance reservation, we fortunately discovered the power of the Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability list. Here is the story of how we managed to rock out to the beats of DJ R-3X with our galactic concoctions!

We went to Oga’s Cantina and scanned the QR code near the restaurant entrance (you can also check availability using your Disneyland mobile app, if you are close to the restaurant.) Through the Disneyland mobile app, we added our party of six to the walk-up list. I was pleasantly surprised that about 20 minutes later, we were notified via the app that our table was ready! Wait times can vary, but even on a very busy day in the galaxy, I couldn’t believe we managed to get a table. In case you have trouble adding your party to the walk-up list via the app, there will be a helpful Padawan at the host stand to help you.

Melody, after quenching his thirst at the watering hole, your Jedi may want to join the battle against the evil First Order at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. In case the standby queue is longer than you’d like to wait, there is an Individual Lightning Lane option, which you can purchase through the Disneyland mobile app. This will significantly reduce your wait time, leaving more time to explore the galaxy.

Don’t forget to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your son at any Disney gift shop! You could also get a “I’m Celebrating” button for yourself and pencil your brave Jedi's name in.

May the Force be with you,
