Hello. When trying to make reservations for a restaurant should I include a 2 year old? It was my understanding that they don’t get credits towards meals , they are expected to share with the adults or extra food can be purchased. Is this correct?

    Hello there, fellow Lauren!

I hope you are having an incredible time planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I know my tumbly starts to rumbly, just like Pooh Bear, every time I start planning our Disney dining adventures.

While you are correct and children under the age of 3-years-old are not given Disney Dining Plan meal credits, they do still need to be included in the total number of Guests for your dining reservations. The restaurants uses this number to not only plan and prepare for your visit, but also to maintain the number of Guests in the restaurant at one time for fire or emergency safety. I remember vividly one year, going back through all our reservations, trying to add our infant son. He then proceeded to stay in the baby carrier, strapped to me and fast asleep, for the majority of our meals. So funny!

Enjoy your upcoming visit, Lauren. If we are able to assist you with anything else, please let us know.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren
