I am trying to make reservations for Disneyland in October, but there are no availability for a studio or 1 bedroom. Hawaii is my home resort. Any suggestion on how to find availability?

    Welcome Home, Lee!

And a great big beautiful welcome to planDisney. How exciting that you are planning to enjoy the magic of Membership at a Disney Vacation Club stay at one of the DVC Resorts in Disneyland.  Our family loves that Disney Vacation Club is always our home away from home, wherever we wander and wherever we roam!

Lee, I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to find a Disney Vacation Club Deluxe Studio or one-bedroom Villa at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels.  It seems that you are within the 7-month booking window at this time, but it could be that they are booked for the dates you would like.

If you are using the Disney Vacation Club website to find availability, my recommendation would be to keep checking - even multiple times per day. In my experience, inventory changes daily and sometimes even within the same day.  This is how we were able to secure our recent booking at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort within three months of our travel dates.  Within the same day, the availability for the Resort changed, and we were able to secure a reservation. Guests release their bookings often, and if they were on a Waitlist, availability will change when Guests are moved off the Waitlist. So do check it often.

Now, as a Disney Vacation Club Member, you do have the option to put yourself on a Waitlist for a particular Disney Vacation Club Resort.  You can have up to two active Waitlists per Membership per Use Year. The one thing to note about this, though, is that if you are moved off the Waitlist, you will be automatically booked into that room, and any concurrent plans you have booked will be automatically canceled. Unfortunately, there is no way to know where you are on the Waitlist or if/when you could be moved off. It is done automatically in the system, so even Member Services doesn't know.  So if you decide to put yourself on the Waitlist and change your mind, be sure to cancel it so you don't get a "surprise" if you are moved off it.

Lastly, you can call Member Services to see if there is availability for your desired Disney Vacation Club Resort for the dates of your stay. They may be able to see something that is not showing on the Disney Vacation Club website and help you secure the room of your dreams.

I hope this helps you, Lee! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back here to see me, and I'll be so happy to help you.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
