Hi Emma, and welcome to planDisney! I love that Blue Bayou is on your radar. It's one of my favorite restaurants inside Disneyland, and I share that opinion with many other Guests. For that reason,
Blue Bayou reservations can sometimes be tricky to get. However, I'm happy to share some insights that may help your dining dreams come true!
Disneyland Resort dining reservations typically open up 60 days in advance, and Blue Bayou reservations fill up quickly. That said, there's a chance that some Guests may cancel their reservations as the date approaches, and new dining opportunities may be added. It's best to keep checking to see if anything opens up. The
reservation tool on the Disneyland website is handy, as you can search for availability over a date range instead of a single day. That makes it a little simpler to see if something is available. You can also explore different party sizes to see if that gives you any more options.
Of course, if you can't get a reservation online, you can try walking up to the restaurant to see if they can make a same-day reservation. That would be based on availability and is not guaranteed, but it's worth a shot. In that case, you might want to head there just before it opens to be higher up on the same-day reservation list if it is available.
Make sure to ride
Pirates of the Caribbean to get a view of the restaurant from another vantage point. I admired Blue Bayou for years from the attraction before dining there myself. It was extra special, then, to watch the boats cruise by as I enjoyed lunch. The Pistachio Lemon Basil Pasta and Mint Julep are so tasty!
Emma, there are also other options you can consider for your visit. You're lucky to be visiting after the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration kicks off, which means you can expect some fantastic entertainment, such as the Paint the Night parade and a new World of Color show. There are a
few dining packages available that pair a meal with premium viewing for select shows. This could be a nice way to add an extra sprinkle of pixie dust to your visit.
As Chef Remy said, "If you are what you eat, then I only want to eat the good stuff." Luckily, there’s no shortage of amazing dining options at the Disneyland Resort! I hope you have the most amazing visit, Emma. Please reach out if you have any other questions before your trip. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Wishing you magic (and tasty food),
Kriss
