I have been trying to get a reservation for Chef Mickey's for several days - and there is nothing available for the begining of May - Is it an option to get there and wait on a table?

    Hi Megan!
By now, you have experienced how popular Chef Mickey's is for a character dining location. That said, all is not lost, and I think you may still be able to get a seat in one of two ways. Number one, keep calling!! Guests cancel reservations all the time, and you may still be able to secure a spot with a little perseverance (and a bit of pixie dust). Number two, be willing to try a "walk up" at off-peak meal times. I stayed at the Contemporary last December (an advantage to getting there early, I know), and the night before our breakfast, I asked the dinner hostess what my chances of doing a walk-up the next morning would be. Her response was, "If you can be here early, your chances are like 98%." Not bad, I thought, so I was first in line at 6:45AM for the 7AM seating, and we got the first table of the day. I am not sure if you are staying at the Contemporary, or if you can get there that early for breakfast. So, if that's the case, try early dinnertimes or late dinnertimes.
One other thing to try is to keep checking with the Concierge at your hotel lobby. Have them check availability for you multiplee times. That is if you are not able to get a reservation by the time you arrive.
I wish you luck in this quest, and hope you have a Magical (and pixie-dusted) vacation!! :)
