Hi there, James! Welcome to planDisney. I'm happy to help with your question.
It's so exciting that
Magic Key Passes are available for purchase again! I'm thrilled that you'll be able to experience a year of magic at the Disneyland Resort. You can absolutely
upgrade your theme park ticket to a Magic Key, as long as the pass purchase price is equal to or greater than the price paid for your original ticket. The amount of one (1) ticket can be applied towards the upgrade to one (1) Magic Key Pass; multiple tickets cannot be combined. You will be able to complete your upgrade in the
Disneyland app. Please keep in mind that any park reservations from your original ticket will not transfer over to your Magic Key pass. Your pass will also be backdated to begin on the first day your original ticket was used (if applicable). New Magic Key pass sales and upgrades are limited in availability and sales can be paused from time to time and at any given time.
Magic Key holders
enjoy so many wonderful benefits. I particularly enjoy the
discounts (when applicable) and relaxing at the
Magic Key Terrace, a dining location just for Magic Key holders and their guests! I also love having the freedom to visit the Happiest Place on Earth when I need a dose of magic. Of course, a theme park reservation is required, and I always keep an eye on the
Magic Key Calendar for availability.
This year will be especially exciting with the
Disney100 Celebration starting on January 27. I'm excited to try the special food offerings and can't wait to see the new nighttime spectacular,
Wondrous Journeys. Be sure to check out the
Disney Parks Blog for your guide to the celebration.
I hope this was helpful, James. Please visit us with any other questions you may have. Here's wishing you a most magical year!
