Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Megan, I’m so glad you’re here!
I cannot express enough, how many appropriate, spontaneous developmental and social gains my son makes on every Disney vacation.
The friendly and helpful Disney employees are called “Cast Members" and while their outfits reflect the different lands in each Disney Theme Park, they are easily identified by their large nametags, which also state their hometown. The free Disney Parks Vacation
Planning Videos reflect Cast Member appearances in spots and are a great tool to help acclimate your child to what awaits.
Megan, I introduce my son to a Cast Member and point out their nametags upon entry. My son wears a lanyard with his diagnosis and contact information around his neck and taped on the inside of his MagicBand.
Please refer to Disney’s
Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities and in particular the excellent
Resource for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities discusses Cast Members on page 21. Please look at the
Disability Access Service (DAS) for rides and attractions which can be used along with the
FastPass+ service.
Thank you kindly for consulting me, I have so many little details to share with you to make your trip easier, Megan, please feel free to ask!
Best Disney Wishes and Planning!
Jacqueline
