Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Karen ~
We love meeting characters and getting pictures with them each trip. It gives me warm fuzzies looking at how my boys have changed over the years in pictures with Mickey. That is always one of our must dos every trip.
There are times that the online calendars for character appearances are not updated until closer to the actual dates. Perhaps the dates you are looking at involve a special event evening like Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom or the International Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. Your trip may also involve a peak season like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to get schedules sorted out on those days.
Here is what I would suggest:
* Keep an eye out the online calendar for updates of appearance times.
* Download the
My Disney Experience mobile app prior to your trip. This is a great way to check for character appearances on the days you plan to visit the theme parks.
* Pick up a printed Times Guide as you enter the parks.
* Check with one of the Cast Members in the blue shirts that are with any of the characters. Sometimes they have a handy list of when characters (even those without permanent meet and greet locations) are appearing in the parks on that day.
If you let us know the dates of your visit and characters you would like to see, we are happy to try and locate some information for you as to where and when you may be able to find them in the parks. And please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR for you!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
