We are trying to plan a vacation for next year sometime. Will my four year old be able to enjoy Orlando or is California location a better choice? I would love to stay in the Nemo themed room since he loves nemo!!

    Hi Kat!

This is a great question!  A four year old will be able to enjoy both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California.  Walt Disney World is a large resort, roughly the size of San Francisco, CA requiring a guest to drive or take Disney transportation to get one place to another place.  Disneyland in California is very compact and a guest can basically walk throughout the resort.  For example, in California the theme parks are about 100 yards apart allowing a guest to literally walk back and forth between the two parks all day.

There is no doubt that Walt Disney World has much more to offer since it has four theme parks, two water parks, two nighttime entertainment districts, a downtown shopping complex, etc.  However, if you are looking for a vacation that allows you to experience most of the resort in a few days then I suggest going to Disneyland.  To experience a good portion of Walt Disney World, you really need to spend 5 nights and have 4 solid days and that's just for the theme parks.  To experience a good portion of Disneyland, you just need 2 days though 3 days would be better.  For the record, I prefer Walt Disney World Resort over the Disneyland Resort, but my favorite single theme park is Disneyland Park.  Of course that might change next year when the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland Expansion is almost complete.

It is a tough decision.  Since you are already thinking about staying in the new Art of Animation Resort, I would recommend just going to Walt Disney World.  I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
