Trying to plan a vacation with family. 6 Adults and 3 children, 5, 3 and infant. We would like to stay at The Grand Californian but having trouble with room prices. It keeps coming up with a room instead of 3. Is 1 room cheaper for that many people?

    Hiya, Terrie!!

Welcome to planDisney! We're so happy that you're hEAR. Thank you for sending this Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us!

Oh Boy! It sounds like you're gEARing up to bring your whole crew to The Happiest Place on Earth! How magical and exciting!! This is a great question because I agree with you that the Disneyland Resort Hotel booking portal is a bit odd. Technically while the question is "how many Guests are in your Party?", the sEARch will only yield room results that can comfortably and safely sleep that total number. Traditional Guest rooms max out at either four or five Mouseketeers, so that's why you're currently only seeing multi-bedroom suites.

My Pro Tip suggestion is to break your group up and make multiple reservations based on who will be sleeping in which room. (Ex: If your party of 6 adults + 3 kids needs three rooms, you'll make three different reservations, each tied to a different owner, all using a different My Disneyland Account.) The downside to this is that while Tinker Bell will try her hardest to spread pixie dust on your party, there won't be a guarantee that your rooms will be next to each other. If that is important to you, you might want to consider a multi-room suite that shares a living room space or even look into a Disney Vacation Club Villa Rental!

I hope the above helped to clEAR things up a bit, Terrie, and helped to secure some beds for your heads! When you're ready to book your most magical stay, be sure to keep your EARs and eyes open for any Discounts, Special Offers, or Promotions you might be able to apply to your rooms. You'll also want to keep up with the Disney Parks Blog in the months and weeks before your visit to stay on top of the newest Disneyland news straight from Mickey himself! Be sure to also keep up with the official planDisney Panel Instagram account where we're sharing all kinds of tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort vacation planning questions, Terrie, We're All Ears!
