I am trying to plan for an upcoming trip to WDW and was wondering if the indoor shows (such as Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo the Musical, American Experience, Hall of Presidents, etc.) allow food and beverages (water) inside?

    Hi Sheryl,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

First off, it's great that you're planning ahead for your Walt Disney World vacation. There is so much that's new and exciting to experience, in addition to all the classic and much-loved attractions and entertainment, that you're sure to enjoy a magical stay. The theater-style shows you mention — Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo - The MusicalThe American Adventure, and The Hall of Presidents — are some of my all-time favorites. I absolutely love the Audio-Animatronics, cinematography, and soaring musical score of the American Adventure just as much as I love the Broadway-caliber star turns in Finding Nemo - The Musical and Festival of the Lion King. Let me also say how much I applaud and appreciate your question asking if these shows allow food and beverages in the theater. Guests are generally asked to refrain from eating and drinking in the theaters. While Guests can tour the theme parks with sandwiches, snacks, and beverages in their backpacks to enjoy them throughout the day in designated eating areas, you'll want to simply be mindful of show and attraction spaces where eating and drinking are not permitted. You can always ask a Cast Member if you're in doubt.

Here's wishing you a fantastic Walt Disney World vacation.

    Enjoy your Disney!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
