Hi Maya! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
The Disneyland Resort is dedicated to being a welcoming and inclusive destination for families. Having visited with my uncle, who needed services due to a service-related disability, I can attest that a trip to the parks eliminates many of the concerns we typically experience while travelling.
Disability Access Service is one of the services currently available to eligible Guests, as well as many other useful
resources you'll want to check out in advance. For instance, we make use of the
Sensory Experience Details guide for information about lights and sounds, which can help guide which Attractions we should skip to avoid triggers. These resources make for a more magical experience.
Currently, if two members of your party of 8 are approved for DAS, either in advance online via a live video chat or in person just outside the parks at the Accessibility Services Kiosk, you will put half your group in one DAS group and the other half in the other DAS group. I hope that's good news! DAS allows Guests to select a return time for some of their favorite Attractions. You'll use the handy
Disneyland mobile app to make these selections. Download it in advance to get familiar with all the useful functions of the app.
While you're waiting, enjoy the magic of the parks from entertainment to yummy snacks and dining. Please be aware that, according to current terms, when it's time to redeem, the DAS qualified Guest must be with the rest of the party to redeem. If you experience difficulty, speak with a friendly Cast Member for help. They're always happy to assist.
I hope this helps!
Elizabeth
