Trying to plan a trip for a week May 7th- May 13th for my 30th birthday. There is about 6 of us going, but I have never been. I would like help in planning my trip.

    Hiya Elizabeth!

Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet. What a special occasion you are planning, Elizabeth! I loved celebrating my birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort, and I could not recommend it enough. I mean, what could be more magical than spending your birthday at the Most Magical Place on Earth?

Now, let's discuss the tools available to help you plan your vacation! First, I highly recommend that you create a My Disney Experience account. Not only can you link your reservations to your account and view all of them together in your plans, but you can also get a checklist so you can see exactly what you are missing. The main things you need to book are where you will sleep, your theme park tickets, theme park reservations and dining reservations (though Resort and dining reservations are optional). My Disney Experience will check each of these items off in your account as you book your reservations, so you can keep track of what's left. Other options include the Help Center online, where you can contact Cast Members via chat, email or phone from 7 A.M. to 11 P.M. EST every day. In addition, you can always ask us more questions or use the search bar here on planDisney to read previous answers. If you need more help booking your reservations, you can also work with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner in your area.

Now, while I do not know all of your favourite things, I thought I might still share some of my favourite things to do when celebrating special occasions in the theme parks. First, my friends and I always love getting brunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe, as the menu is delicious and the decor is so light and elegant. Plus, if you have a theme park reservation at Magic Kingdom Park on that day, you can take the boat or the monorail over to the theme park! In addition, you will be visiting during the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, which is absolutely gorgeous and includes so many unique offerings. The EPCOT Festivals always add so much to your vacation, which could also be a great way to spend your birthday. No matter what your plans end up being, make sure to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button at any merchandise locations, Guest Relations or the front desk of your Resort hotel.

I hope this was helpful, Elizabeth, and that you will have the most magical birthday celebration on your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any other questions or want more suggestions, don't hesitate to reach back out and check out the planDisney podcast! We always love sharing our personal experiences and insights to help you have the best day ever.

    Have a magical day,
