Trying to plan a trip for October 2017 for the Halloween events to Disneyland. I'm a seasoned WDW traveler and was surprised that they announce the dates super late in the summer for DL unlike WDW. Why is that? Any tips?

    Hi Nicole!

I see you're into having Spooktacular Fun!

Halloween Time is beyond fun at the Disneyland Resort. I'm so glad you're planning a trip out here for the Frightfully Delightful festivities!
I know the excitement of planning a trip to Disneyland can make us all eager to book the best experiences possible, as early as possible.
In general, dates for Mickey's Halloween Party are announced in early July. This is done in order to give families time to plan ahead for the Fall.
Since you're getting an early start on your travel plans, I have a few recommendations for you.
First off, visit the Disney Parks Blog and sign-up for email notifications. This way, you'll know as soon as Mickey's Halloween Party dates are announced so you can purchase tickets for your preferred night(s).

Second, keep in mind that Mickey's Halloween Party usually begins in early-mid September and runs through the end of October. In past years, Mickey's Halloween Party has usually been held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights, although dates are always subject to change.

Finally, don't forget to download the Disneyland Mobile App. It's a great way to maximize your Mickey's Halloween Party experience and get information about Halloween Time and events happening at the Disneyland Resort.

    I hope this helps.
    Se ya real soon!
