Hello, we are trying to plan our 1st trip, we want to go to TL on day 1, then Epcot or HS day 2, and MK day 3, do we need to buy a 3 day park pass to do TL on day 1, or do we just need a 2 day park pass and the waterpark addon to be fine? Thanks

Hiya Michael - welcome to planDisney!

I'm so glad that you found us and decided to stop by with a question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan your own magical Walt Disney World Resort vacations!

First of all, let me just say that you've picked a great time to visit! There is pixie dust swirling around everywhere as part of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration. There are amazing new attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, exciting new entertainment and events, and so much food, yum!

If you're planning to visit for three (or even four) days, and only intend to spend two of those days in the Theme Parks, you'd want to purchase a 2-day Theme Park Ticket. With that ticket, you'll be able to visit one Theme Park per day on any two days within four days of the start of your ticket. If you add the Water Park and Sports Option to your ticket, you will also receive two admissions (because you have a 2-day ticket - you'd get three with a 3-day ticket, etc.) to one of the Water Parks or another available sports or recreation activity like miniature golf. These extra admissions can be used at any time within the four valid use dates of your 2-day ticket!

More simply put, the Water Park does not count as a "Theme Park" when it comes to purchasing tickets - you either purchase separate admission to a Water Park or receive admissions through the Water Park and Sports Option added on to your Theme Park Ticket. The Water Park and Sports Option is almost always a better value than buying a separate admission to a Water Park!

There is one other option I want to bring to your attention - the Park Hopper Plus Option. With this option, you get all the benefits of the Water Park and Sports Option, and you also have the ability to "park hop" to other available Theme Parks after 2 p.m. So, on your second day, you could start the day at Disney's Hollywood Studios and then hop over to EPCOT in the afternoon or evening! Likewise, you could start at Magic Kingdom Park on your third day and then hop over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park in the afternoon! Just be sure to make Park Pass Reservations for the Theme Park you want to start your day at - you must tap in and enter that park before you can hop to any other available park after 2 p.m.

I'm sure you'll have more questions as you continue planning, so please feel free to stop by any time to ask us. You can also check out the Disney Parks Blog and the planDisney podcast for other important news and tips!
