We're trying to plan a trip at the end of May with our 2-year-old son. I'm looking into the MYW + dining package (value resort). Since the dining plan is for ages 3+, am I supposed to purchase his meals separately?

    Hi Amy,

Planning a Magic Your Way package and considering the Disney Dining Plan will allow so much ease and convenience during your vacation. While it is true the dining plans are unavailable for guests under 3 years of age, your prince will be allowed to share your plate. If you decide to purchase a meal for him, the cost will simply be added to your bill.

My advice in gaining the most value out of the Disney Dining Plan is to book Character Dining experiences, like breakfast or lunch at Disney Junior Play 'n Dine at Hollywood & Vine in Disney's Hollywood Studios, or Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Doing so will provide your family a multitude of options from the buffets, and your son ample Disney Character interaction time while you dine.

There are ten different Character Dining experiences to choose from worth (1) table-service credit. Cinderella's Royal Table, for example, would require (2) table-service credits to be redeemed from your Disney Dining plan.

Clicking the link for Disney Dining reservations will allow you to filter the search by your family's preferences. The most popular restaurants will be reserved early, so be sure to have your dining set prior to arrival. You can do so online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE, 407-939-3463.

Feel free to ask me anything else coming to mind, Amy! Wishing you happy planning and a MAGICAL vacation.
