Hello, I am trying to plan a trip to Disney world for me and my son and husband. This is our first time going, I’m wondering is there any assistance that you could provide me or help looking for the best budget friendly package. Tya

Hiya, Yuri. Welcome to planDisney! You’ve certainly come to the right place to start planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! From hotels to tickets and dining, I’ve got you covered.

To get started, let’s review your Disney Resorts Collection hotel options. There are four different hotel categories to choose from to fit your vibe and budget:

    • Deluxe Villas (rooms are slightly larger than Deluxe Resort rooms, have a kitchenette, and are available in 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom villas).
    • Deluxe Resort Hotels.
    • Moderate Resort Hotels.
    • Value Resort Hotels.

My personal favorites are Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (Deluxe), Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (Moderate), and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (Value). One example from each category! Picking the right resort is essential, so you should look at theming, dining options, proximity to the parks, types of complimentary transportation options, and the pools! If budget is your top priority, Disney’s Art of Animation/Disney’s Pop Century may be your best bet. Both are affordable and have access to the Disney Skyliner!

Next, let’s talk Theme Park Tickets. I suggest a minimum of four days in the parks so you can spend an entire day at each park. I like the Park Hopper Option to jump from one park to another based on crowds and wait times. Here is a quick run-down of the ticket types available:

    • Base Ticket – one park per day.
    • Park Hopper Option – same-day admission to all four parks.
    • Water Park and Sports Option – one park per day, visits to water parks, and more.
    • Park Hopper Plus Option – same-day admission to all four parks plus visits to water parks and more.

Now that you have a good idea of these major decisions, head to the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page to see if you qualify for any current promotions for your hotel of choice or any ticket deals. From there, you can begin booking by heading to the Start Planning Your Disney Vacation page. Input your dates, number of Guests, and the resort you like, and you’ll be off to the races!

Your last pre-planning decision will be whether or not you would like the dining plan and, if so, which type. There are two dining plan options: the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Plan. Here’s a simple overview:

    1.  Disney Quick-Service includes the following per person, per night:

    • 2-Quick Service Meals (no table service meals)
    • 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic Drink
    • 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug per person

    2.  Disney Dining Plan includes the following per person, per night:

    • 1 Table-Service Meal
    • 1 Quick-Service Meal
    • 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic Drink
    • 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug per person
*The ability to redeem your meals for special dining experiences, including Character Dining.

Check out the planDisney Video Library for great content from my fellow planDisney panelist friends to help you choose. Once you have your vacation booked, come back to planDisney to ask me how to plan your day or which restaurants to book in advance. I hope this helps you with your planning, Yuri!

    See you real soon!
