Trying to plan my stay at Walt Disney World resort online using my DVC points

    Pixie Dusted Greetings, Dorothea!

Welcome back to planDisney and Welcome Home!  Dorothea, one of the best parts about Disney Vacation Club Membership is that managing your bookings online is as easy as saying "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo."  The system is very user-friendly, but if your magic wand gets stuck along the way, don't worry! You can also call Member Services who are like Fairy Godparents that can make magic happen for you.  But, I'll walk you through the online process below.

Dorothea, to make the booking online, just log into your Disney Vacation Club account and click on the My DVC tab. At the top, there is a search bar for you to search availability based on dates and room size, and then you will be able to see all of the DVC Resorts that have availability during your desired dates.

Now, one thing to note is that if you are booking at your Home Resort - the Resort in which you purchased a Vacation Ownership Interest - you can book your Resort beginning 11 months in advance of your desired check-in date. If you are trying to book any other Disney Vacation Club Resort, you can do this beginning seven months in advance of your desired check-in date.  If you do a search and are too far out from these priority periods, it will look like there is no availability. So, in this case, you will want to check back within the priority booking window.

Sometimes, in busy periods, there is limited or no availability during your preferred dates even in the priority window. In this case, you can look to see if you can book a split stay at more than one Resort, which is when you spend a few nights at one Resort and then transfer to a different Resort for additional nights. Typically the online system will tell you if it can find a few nights at one location and a few nights at another location. Don't worry, though, if you need to do this.  Bell Services can be like your Royal Carriage to ensure all of your belongings get to your second Resort. Alternatively, you can also look to put yourself on a Disney Vacation Club Resort Wait List if your heart is set on a specific Resort, and there isn't current availability at that Resort.

Now, if your magic wand runs out of pixie dust while you are trying to book your Disney Vacation Club Resort stay online, just give a jingle to Member Services. They will be able to assist you at any point along the way, and they are excellent at ensuring you maximize the magic of your Membership.

I hope this helps you, Dorothea! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back to see me and I'll be happy to assist you.

    Have fun making magical memories!
