Trying to plan a return trip next fall for 7 adults & 2 kids (7 & 5). Was looking at end of Aug (right b4 school starts) but I'm wondering if I'd get a better deal in mid-Oct with a free dining plan (if offered)? Weighing cost vs taking girls out o

I don't think you'll necessarily get a better deal in mid-October than you would in late August, Lisa.  In the past, free dining promotions have been offered to guest traveling in both August and October, but room rates are typically slightly better in late August because it's usually labeled as a value season.  The second part of your dilemma is a valid one; I, too, have struggled with the decision to take my children out of school for a vacation.  My perspective is that children as young as yours probably wouldn't miss too terribly much if they were out of school for a brief period of time.  Once they become high schoolers it's a whole different ball game, so take advantage of their youth while you can.  Just my two cents, for what it's worth.  Good luck with your decision!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
