I am trying to plan our next DVC trip to Disney World for December 2012 and I am wanting to book a cruise and land vacation- a first for us. What recommendations about doing the combined trip could someone offer.

    Hi Ariane!
You will love the Land and Sea combination.  It's truly the best of both worlds!  There are three, four, and five night cruises available on the Disney Dream.  Depending on the time you can spend in Florida, I would recommend the four or five night cruise.  I also would go to Walt Disney World first and then head to Port Canaveral.  The two vacations are very different and special in their own way.  Being at Walt Disney World is so much fun to experience your resort and the theme parks as you already know.  Most Land and Sea Packages will include Magical Express transportation to the port.  You will be amazed just looking at the ship from the bus. The Dream is so spectacular with hidden gems throughout the ship.  It is the ultimate in luxury and service.  The children's clubs are fantastic, and I have a hard time getting my kids to leave them. The dining is so unique:  your servers actually rotate with you as you visit the different restaurants each night and by the end of your journey, they will become your friends!  The AquaDuck Water Slide is so much fun and not just for kids!  This water coaster is on the top deck of the Dream and propels you around the ship.  The Broadway-style shows aboard and entertainment is something not to be missed.  We always prefer second seat dining (usually around 8pm.)   There are so many activities for adult and children to do that you will never be bored and will actually wish for more hours in the day to experience everything.  I can't think of a better vacation than what you are planning!  Send me a follow question for more information, Ariane.  I wish you a magical journey on Land and Sea!
