Trying to plan and need help, with gluten free options. We have recorded and looked at all the the restaurants that have mobile ordering but the other restaurants don’t have GF options anywhere I can find.

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Cindy!

Thanks for visiting planDisney with your question. Your vacation at the Disneyland Resort will be here before you know it, so it’s a great idea to get your dining plans in order, especially if someone in your group has a food allergy or restriction.

The great news is that the Disneyland Resort is very conscientious and accommodating when it comes to Guests’ dietary restrictions due to common food allergies. Many restaurants, from full-service sit-down to quick counter-service locations, offer special allergy-friendly menus that are separated by category so you can easily identify safe foods, in addition to alternate meal options.

Gluten-free buns and rolls can be requested at most restaurants in both theme parks, including Award Wieners at Disney California Adventure Park, which is one of my family’s favorite spots to grab lunch. The All-Beef Hot Dog and Bacon Street Dog (when served on an allergy-friendly bun) and Filmstrip Fries are gluten-free. However, lookout for the chili there because it was not on the allergy-friendly menu the last time I checked. Mickey waffles are also on my must-eat list, and a gluten-free version can be made upon request during breakfast at some locations. You should also be able to ask for pizza with gluten-free crust and rice noodles with marinara sauce where pizza and pasta is served, and baked chicken can be requested at lunch and dinner at Plaza Inn at Disneyland Park.

Along with these recommendations, I suggest that those with an allergy double check in person at the Disneyland Resort before enjoying a food item, as ingredients and menus are subject to change. Please don’t hesitate to speak with a chef or Cast Member trained in special diets when you arrive at a dining location about any concerns you have. You can also send an email to special.diets@disneyland.com to reach the Disneyland Resort Special Diets Team if you have more specific questions prior to your arrival.

Bon appetit, Cindy! Please stop by planDisney again as you continue to prepare for your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
