I am trying to plan a mother daughter trip for March or 2014 my 5 year old daughter. What are some recommendations for activities and dinner?

    Hi Suzanne!

I was excited to see your question; my five year old daughter and I will be heading to Walt Disney World Resort this March for our "girls only" vacation!  When we head to Walt Disney World Resort by ourselves, We like to attend Afternoon Tea in the Garden View Tea Room at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and dress up in our finest princess attire.  For a splurge, I would recommend My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party where you will enjoy tea with Princess Aurora and some of her friends.  My daughter and I attended this tea on our last mother daughter vacation and it  is hands down my favourite memory at Walt Disney World.  I would also suggest heading over to Senses - A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort to indulge in a mommy daughter manicure and pedicure.

For Dining options, I would recommend Cinderella's Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, or 1900 Park Fare.  My daughter also loves dining at California Grill, the Yachtsman Steakhouse and attending the Hoop Dee Do Musical Revue.

While these experiences are fabulous, some of the most magical moments on our "girls only" vacations are when we just enjoy each other's company. I like to let my daughter decide what we do and the attractions we are going to experience.  All though I was not terribly excited when my daughter insisted we both get our faces painted, she still talks about our matching kitty faces, and I know she absolutely loved that I was willing to get my face painted too.

I am afraid I have run out of space Suzanne.  Please feel free to send me another question if you would like some more tips or ideas for your girls vacation.
