Hi, We were trying to plan a last minute trip before I'm too pregnant to travel. We were trying to come in February 1st through the 5th. We can't find any value resorts. Is there an event going on, are we out of luck?

    Hi Shelby!

Congratulations on your little Mouseketeer and thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!  I'm so happy to help you as I've traveled to Walt Disney World Resort while pregnant with two of my children and can share a few tips with you after we get your question answered!

I looked on the Walt Disney World Resort website and am seeing the same thing you are when it comes to no availability at any of the value resorts.  On the ESPN Wide World of Sports website, I was able to see that the 2024 UDA National Dance Team Championship is being held from February 2 through February 4.  While none of my children have participated in a youth event at ESPN Wide World of Sports, I know that value resorts are very popular accommodations for teams and families traveling to Walt Disney World Resort to compete.

What you may want to consider, if you haven't already, are some of the other properties around Orlando.  On the Walt Disney World Resort website, you can find links to Disney Springs Area Hotels and Walt Disney World Resort Good Neighbor Hotels.  Some of these may have availability and be in your price range.  Depending on the hotel selected, several of these offer benefits like early entry and park transportation too!  You can even book room and ticket packages for select resorts through the Walt Disney World Resort website.  I've stayed at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando and the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista and have been really happy at both!

Shelby, I hope that you are able to make your special visit happen!  As promised, here are a few of my favorite tips for traveling to Walt Disney World Resort while pregnant.  First, staying hydrated is important for both you and the baby.  Did you know that you can request complimentary cups of ice water from Quick-Service dining locations throughout the parks?  You could also bring in your own water bottle and use convenient refill stations.  Second, I always plan a few rest days at my resort.  I was seven months pregnant on each of my visits so swollen ankles and tired feet were both very real!  I also highly recommend booking a special dinner to celebrate.  California Grill is one of my favorite spots for a celebration dinner!  With beautiful views overlooking Magic Kingdom Park, it's a dining experience that is unforgettable.  Lastly, take lots of pictures!  I have some great photos where Mickey and pals were eager to congratulate me.  Don't forget to grab a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button from the parks to mark the occasion!  Speaking of photos, you may even try to reserve a Capture Your Moment photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer in the park.

Congratulations again, Shelby!  I'm sending you lots of pixie dust as you plan your upcoming vacation and excitedly await the arrival of your new little prince or princess!  If you have any other questions, feel free to stop by and see me or my pals here at planDisney again!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
