Hi Holly! On behalf of my friends at planDisney, congratulations to you and your “Happily Ever After”! The Walt Disney World Resort is a great way to continue the magic of your wedding day right through your honeymoon!
I think the best way to start saving some money on your honeymoon is to consider booking either a moderate or a value resort as opposed to a deluxe resort. There are over 25 Walt Disney World Resort hotels on property. I’m going to make this easy for you and recommend my top picks in the value and moderate range!
The Walt Disney World Resort offers resort hotels for just about every “vibe.” If the backdrop of romance is important, then I recommend
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter (moderate). If you prefer a more tropical honeymoon getaway, then
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (moderate) would be perfect! This location has the added benefit of being connected to the Disney Skyliner which makes for very convenient travel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!
If you’d like a moderate-priced resort hotel that provides the feel of staying in a deluxe resort, then I recommend
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Gran Destino Tower. This is one of my favorite moderate resorts due to how new and modern it is!
In the value range, which will save you the most money, I recommend
Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Additionally, if you are a huge Disney fan, and would love to be surrounded by the art, amination, and magic of Disney films such as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo, then I highly recommend
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! If you are indeed a huge Disney fan, then I recommend Disney’s Art of Animation Resort over Disney’s Pop Century Resort. If you don’t want to be “surrounded” by Disney theming, then Disney’s Pop Century Resort would be the better option of these two value resorts. Like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, both resorts are connected to the Disney Skyliner!
Finally, you need to look at the special offers that the Walt Disney World Resort offers throughout the year! On the website, hover your mouse over the heading that reads, “Places to Stay.” When the dropdown menu appears, click on “
View Special Offers.” Also, keep in mind that if you book a vacation without a special offer or discount, and an offer is announced later for your planned time of travel, you can check if the new offer can be applied to your existing reservation (here’s a PRO TIP…it usually can be applied). And, one final tip...put Disney Gift Cards on your wedding registry! They make a great gift and can be used at just about every Disney Park and Disney Dining location!
Congratulations, again, Holly! I hope you have the most perfect (and magical) honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort!
Happy Planning!
Jonathan
