Hi moms I am trying to plan our first WDW trip and have a few questions. What food options are available at the Port Orleans Riverside? Does the pool/pools have varying depths including gradual entry? What other amenities or special features do they offer?

    Hi Tiffany!
I'm so excited to hear that you are taking your first Walt Disney World vacation! Port Orleans Riverside offers some wonderful dining options.Boatwright's Dining Hall is the table service restaurant at the resort serving dinner only, it offers seafood dishes and Jambalaya of course since you are in the Bayou.  Riverside Mill is the food court area of Riverside offering breakfast, lunch and dinner.  This food court in my opinion is one of the best out of all the Disney Resorts, you can find typical mealtime fare and a few Cajun dishes thrown in also.  Muddy Rivers is the pool bar located at the Ol' Man Island and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with some typical snack such as nachos.  The River Roost Lounge is a piano bar featuring the local legend Bob "Ye Haa" Jackson who performs Wednesday through Saturday nights, I highly recommend stopping by to get a chance to participate in his show.  This is definitely one of Disney's lesser known forms of entertainment, plus there is no admission cost for this soiree.
Port Orleans Riverside has 5 different pools to choose from, the main pool "Ol' Man Island" features a waterfall, water slides, poolside activities plus a Jacuzzi and children's pool  is located just next to the pool. The pool is not a zero entry, but gradually increases from 3 feet to five feet as do the remaining quiet pools located in the Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou sections of the resort.  I hope this helps you plan your first Walt Disney World vacation and please visit us again if you have anymore questions.

    Enjoy your "Disney Time!"
