I am trying to plan our first time trip to Disney World last week of November/first week of December 2009. I am so overwhelmed with information that I do not know where to begin. We would like to stay at the Polynesian Resort. Where do I begin?

Hi Donna - you're off to a great start already, since you know where you want to stay and when you want to go.

I would suggest that you now consider what type of tickets you'll need.  Think about how you want to spend the day, and how many days you'll want to visit the parks.  I generally recommend Magic Your Way tickets with the park hopping option.

Then, you'll want to book your vacation.  You can either call (407) 939-6244, book online, or talk to a travel agent.  I generally book through the phone number, but it's really up to you.

When you make your reservations, you'll be asked if you want to add the Disney dining plan.  This is an option that I highly recommend if you plan to eat all of your meals onsite.  It can definitely save you money!

Once your reservations are set, you should read at least one guidebook to get an idea of which attractions you'll want to see.  There's a few books I'd recommend - the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, the Complete Idiot's Guide to Walt Disney World, or the Passporter.

When you are 90 days from your arrival date, you'll want to call Walt Disney World dining to reserve your dining reservations.  Table service locations do fill up, so I'd suggest you book as far in advance as possible.

I hope this helps!  Have a great vacation!
