i am trying to plan our family's first vacation EVER and would love to have my children be at WDW on christmas day! is this a super busy time and where would be the most festive place to be at the park during this time?

    Hi Ashleigh,

While I was never at the Walt Disney World Resort on Christmas Day, I know some of the other Moms have been. I was there starting December 27 through the New Year. It was a busiest I have ever seen it and it is generally the busiest day at WDW!

This being said you will need to be in Magic Kingdom almost at opening time on Christmas Day as once the park reaches capacity, no more guests will be allowed in for their safety. It is the belief that Magic Kingdom is the most festive but Epcot has the wonderful Holidays Around the World to experience which is one of my favorite things.

I personally would not recommend a first trip to WDW at Christmas. With the large crowds and long wait times, you will not experience as much as you would during another time. I think the Christmas holiday week is great for guests who have been a few times so they are experience the holiday part of WDW as well as their favorite attractions and not are trying to cram everything into their vacation.

However, if you accept the crowds, then have a blast at one of the most magical places to be!

    Have a magical day!
