Hi Danielle,
Planning your family's Walt Disney World vacation will be so much fun for you! I would first start on the website with the
Vacation Package Guide. This handy resource will allow you to filter how many guests are traveling in your party, your Resort Hotel preferences, dining preferences and more. If you plan to all stay together, you'll need to check out the options for
Rooms for 5 Guests or More.
Also be sure to order a complimentary
Disney Parks Vacation Planning DVD. Once you have your Magic Your Way package reserved either online or by calling 407-W-DISNEY, you'll want to have a rough itinerary of which Parks to visit throughout your week. I always recommend base tickets only (not Park Hoppers) for your first visit to Walt Disney World. There will be so much to see and do in each Park, you won't necessarily need the added expense and stress of worrying about "hopping" to another Park in the same day.
Checking out the Park Calendars online will help you build a daily itinerary. If Magic Kingdom is offering Extra Magic Hours, definitely take advantage! Staying at a Disney Resort Hotel will offer you "extra hours" in the Parks, exclusive only to Disney Resort Hotel guests. You'll be able to hit the most popular attractions early in the morning before the crowds thicken by midday.
I am running out of room, Danielle, but I also suggest downloading the My Disney Experience app to your smartphone. While touring the Parks, you'll have a perfect snapshot of current wait times, show times, character locations, maps and more. It's a great resource.
