I am trying to plan a Disney trip for our family. This will be the first trip for my kids (ages 6 & 4). We are planning to visit on our winter break which is in February. What is the weather like and what are the crowds usually like?

    Hi Leah,

Thanks so much for your question! I think you will find that February is a great time to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The crowds will be some of the lowest of the year, with the exception of the week around President's Day, and the weather is typically very pleasant.

I have two resources I consult when choosing when to visit the parks. When I want to check out past crowd levels and current predictions, I've been very happy with the information on TouringPlans.com, specifically their crowd calendar. For weather, I always check with AccuWeather.com because they have both historical data and extended forecasts.

This year didn't see too many truly hot days in February and quite a few that might have you reaching for a sweatshirt at night! I know it's Florida, but they do have a few chilly days each year so I would keep an eye on the week you plan to visit.

Your children will have a blast on their first visit no matter what the weather or crowds are like, believe me! You have the right idea getting all your plans in place ahead of time so you can enjoy your time together.

Please let us know if we can help you in any other way. Say hi to Mickey for me!
