Ahoy, Elizabeth! Isn't it lovely when you can plan a
Disney Cruise Line vacation that departs from your home state? I no longer live in Florida, but I love visiting my family near Port Canaveral when we go on cruises. Of course, I also see these magical ships in port when visiting and wish I could hop on board.
I'm glad you stopped by as you are looking at the
possible itineraries from Galveston. Aboard the
Disney Magic, cruises from here will take you to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. These are closed-loop cruises, meaning you depart from and return to the same port. On closed-loop cruises, you do not need a passport, but you do need citizenship documentation. This could be a state-issued photo ID (like a driver's license) and an original birth certificate. You can read the
travel document requirements online. I always recommend reviewing these early so if you need to find your birth certificate or apply for or renew your passport, you know in plenty of time.
If you leave the ship on an exciting or relaxing
Port Adventure, you will need your government-issued photo ID and Key to the World Card (the card you are given on the ship to open your stateroom door, charge purchases to your account and show officials at the ports as proof of your cruise). Because country and local port authorities set the policies, you should check the travel documentation requirements as your cruise gets closer to see if there is any specific guidance for your planned Ports of Call or any changes that could affect what you need to bring with you on your cruise.
Elizabeth, I am excited for you, thinking about the cruise on your horizon. You can make a splash and soak in the fun on the
AquaDunk. The Disney Magic is also the exclusive home to
Rapunzel's Royal Table. Can you feel smolder? Standing here, it's all so clear you're where you're meant to be.
If we can help with any other questions, please cruise back by

Go Live Your Dreams!
