Hi John!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
I'm so happy to hear you're making plans to see
Happily Ever After, the amazing nighttime spectacular held most evenings as a grand finale to a day in Magic Kingdom Park. Not only are the castle projections gorgeous and the fireworks unbelievable, but the songs they've chosen for the show are some of my very favorites. Guests are asked to "unlock the magic within" as they're taken on a musical journey including "Down in New Orleans" (
Princess and the Frog), "Out There" (
The Hunchback of Notre Dame), "How Far I'll Go" (
Moana), "Go the Distance" (
Hercules), and more Disney favorites. I have yet to watch Happily Ever After without tears. Happy tears!
It's true that on select nights during the month of September, Happily Ever After will not be presented. On those nights, something a bit more SPOOKTACULAR is happening in Magic Kingdom Park -
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. In 2018, the Halloween party dates begin in August, and will be held on September 3, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, and 30. Additional party dates are available through the month of October, ending on Halloween Night. While you'll need to plan around these dates to see Happily Ever After, I also encourage you to consider attending one of the Halloween parties. It's my favorite Walt Disney World Resort special event of the whole year! The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and the HalloWishes fireworks are reason enough for me to attend each fall - it's a must-BOO!
I hope this helps with your planning and preparing for your upcoming vacation.
Have a magical day! - Diane W.
