Welcome to planDisney, Amanpreet!
There are so many outstanding variations when looking to book a
Disney Cruise Line vacation, it's no wonder you're having a tough time choosing!
When my family first started cruising with Disney, I looked at all options and started to craft what was most important to us. Time of year, length of the trip, if we wanted to pair the sailing with a visit to
Walt Disney World--even who was going with us--all of this helped me start to narrow the list a bit more with each consideration.
For us, a shorter sailing in January, paired with our first visit to Walt Disney World seemed just the right fit. I chose a weekend sailing that would enable us to be in the theme parks on weekdays. Just to see some options for you, I went to Disney Cruise Line's website, selected August, leaving from either Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale, then selected two adults and two kids. That next page is where the fun begins!
Looking at
August cruise options, glance toward the bottom of each: you'll see the locations each trip will visit during those sailings. That might be the next item to help you whittle down the list of choices a bit more. For example, I just booked a cruise for my husband and I on the
Disney Fantasy because it's a shorter cruise that stops at both of Disney Cruise Line's private islands. While
Disney Castaway Cay has long been our family's favorite, we also wanted to explore
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Bingo! We have both of those plus a day at sea.
If the 28 cruise options in the link above is too many, add another filter such as how many nights you'd like to cruise or if there is a particular destination you'd like to visit. Love the beach? Look for cruises that include more stops at ports of call. Thinking you'd like to linger longer onboard? Check out those that include a day or two at sea.
Next up? Special interests. Have a Frozen fan with you? We absolutely loved our night at
Arendelle: a Frozen Dining Adventure on the
Disney Wish. So much fun--and the food was as delicious as what was served on Elsa's Coronation Day! Marvel fans? You'll love the interactive dining experience at
Worlds of Marvel. While we loved our Avengers: Quantum Encounter aboard the Disney Wish, I would love to see Rocket and Groot at the Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix onboard either the
Disney Treasure or the
Disney Destiny. (Hmm...time to book another one...?)
Amanpreet, you don't have to worry about picking the perfect cruise for your family--they'll all be magical! Instead, decide what matters most to you, then use those Disney Cruise Line website filters to shorten the list of personalized options. No matter which you choose, you and your family are in for a magical voyage with memories you'll cherish for a lifetime.
As you sift through all of the possibilities, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
