    We are trying to plan our Castaway Cay day and more specifically where to sit. We have a multi-generational group- ages 11-75. Are hammocks available on both family beaches? What are the pros/cons of each of the two family beaches? Thank you!

    Hi there, Melanie!

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Your trip is just around the corner and it will be here before you know it!  It sounds like you have a wonderful family vacation on the horizon and I know you will all have a great time with everything Disney Cruise Line has to offer.

    Castaway Cay is one of my favorite ports of call to visit.  My family eagerly looks forward to our day on the beautiful beach with clear water and a most perfect view of the ship in the background.  It can’t be beat!  I am excited you will have the opportunity to visit on your trip!  The best thing about Castaway Cay is that there is plenty of space for all Guests and lounge chairs and umbrellas are plentiful.  Hammocks are available throughout the island on both the family beaches as well as the adult-only beach, Serenity Bay.  When you exit the ship and arrive on the island, you can catch the tram to take you to the beach of your choosing to spend your day!  You can’t go wrong with either family beach – they are both close to a lunch buffet (don't miss out on the HUGE cookies), bathrooms and activities.  If your younger family members may want to play at Pelican Plunge, you would be closer being at the second family beach, while the first family beach is closer to the Scuttles Cove Youth Club for ages 3-11.  I can assure you that you will enjoy your time no matter where you choose to set up for the day!  Just don’t go back to the ship without stopping by one of the two gift shops on the island where you can pick up exclusive Castaway Cay merchandise!  

    I am so excited for you and your family’s trip.  I know you will make many memories that will last a lifetime!
