Hi Jillian!
Thanks for sending another great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Happy to have you onboard with us again and to hEAR you have a Disney cruise on the horizon.
The beauty of staying at a Walt Disney World resort prior to your Disney cruise is getting immersed in the magic from day one. Not to mention being able to use
Disney Cruise Line ground transportation to get to Port Canaveral! If you select ground transportation on your cruise reservation, then Disney Cruise Line will take care of the rest! All they need to know is which Walt Disney World resort will be saying “Welcome Home” to you and your family.
In this scenario, you will NOT need to choose a Port Arrival Time when you complete your
Online Check-In. Instead, you will find paperwork in your resort room that will include instructions on where and when to meet your motor coach the next day. Then, once you arrive at Port Canaveral for check-in, you will receive a Boarding Group number which will determine when you can actually board the ship. Typically, calls for boarding groups begin around 11:30AM-12:00PM. Once your group number is called, you and your crew can board and officially begin your adventure at sea!
You can also stay in an airport hotel and have transfers from the airport to the port added to your reservation. Simply
contact Disney Cruise Line to add ground transfers to your reservation.
Sail back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before your high seas adventure!
Happy Sailing!
