We are trying in less than a week to celebrate my son's 5th BD and his 1st Disney trip- it's proving difficult to make character reservations as I am at a loss of where/ when we'll be- if I don't book now, I may lose out how this experience? suggestions?

There is nothing quite like celebrating a birthday at Walt Disney World. Character Dining is one of the more popular dining options. We all love meeting our favorite Disney friends. It never hurts to contact (407) WDW-DINE. The friendly and helpful guest services members will make every effort to make your son's birthday even more magical. One great tip to make the day even more special is to start with a visit to Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom. Go to City Hall for your son to receive his Personalized Birthday Celebration Recognition Pin. He might also enjoy the phone call from Goofy with birthday wishes. We also liked to buy them the special 'it's my birthday' Mickey Mouse ears. With these on your son will receive birthday wishes from both cast members and guests alike, which is always pretty cool. I hope this assists you in making this day more special.

As a Los Angeles native I basically grew up at Disneyland. It has always been so easy to take my family on the short drive to the Happiest Place on Earth. Watching my daughters make magical memories reminds me why I keep coming back. Learn More About Ari
