I am trying to do all of my homework in planning our vacation. There is such a difference in the lodging, from pricing to decor. We have a 5 year old and I would like to know which of the disney resorts would a 5 year old choose?

    Hi Mark!

You didn't mention if your 5 year old is a boy or a girl.  When my children were in that age group, they *loved* All Star Movies, specifically the Toy Story buildings.  Waking up to the sight of a 35 foot Buzz Lightyear icon outside your window was a huge hit with them!

Depending on your child's preferences, there are three different All Star Resorts: All Star Movies, All Star Sports, All Star Music.  The resorts are very similar but differ based on themeing.  One of the benefits in staying at the All Star resorts is the food court.  They offer a wide variety of food offerings and there is always something for even the pickiest of eaters.

If your child is a boy and your budget allows, the Contemporary might be the ultimate resort to consider.  There is nothing cooler than having a monorail whisk through your resort.  I do warn, however, that once you stay here it may be difficult to convince your child to stay elsewhere!  (Believe me, I know!)

You may want want to visit http://disneyworld.com, click on the 'Resorts' tab and then 'Resorts Comparison'.  This may give you a better idea on narrowing down your resort based on what your child would enjoy.  And if you haven't already, do order a free Vacation Planning DVD (links are everywhere on  http://disneyworld.com).

If you need additional help on specific resorts, please let us know!  Diane
