Hey Howdy Hey Kerri and welcome to planDisney!
Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Resorts continue to experience high volumes of Guests with limited capacity noted. There is so much going on right now in Walt Disney World such as the opening of
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT on May 27th drawing so many to the parks. It does help to try and understand the crowd levels when planning your trip, so let me see if I can help give you some tips to plan your trip!
Not only do we have new attractions in Walt Disney World, but we also have the official kick-off to vacation season here in the states with Memorial Day weekend further fueling the demand for theme park attendance. As of right now, from the
Theme Park Availability Tool, we can see that there is limited availability in the parks for a good chunk of June. At this point, specific capacity limits are no longer shared as they were when the parks and resorts opened post-Covid, so to say the levels in the parks are up to pre-pandemic levels I am not entirely sure I can answer that. What I can say is things Walt Disney World are busy and it is hard to find availability in the theme parks as well as at many resorts, all of which are open at this time.
As you continue to finalize your plans for your big trip in the coming days, it helps to have a plan to see as much as you can when in the parks. I've got a few tips for you to help to make the most of your time in the parks.
If you are planning on staying onsite at a
Disney Resort Collection hotel, make sure to take advantage of the benefit of extra hours in the park. Disney has the benefit of
Early Theme Park Entry for all Guests staying onsite which they can enter the parks 30 minutes before the parks open to the general public. They also offer
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select days in select parks for Guests staying in Disney Deluxe Resorts or Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts will have extra time in the parks after the park closes. These opportunities will allow most Guests to have exclusive experiences in the parks with reduced wait times and crowd levels.
Another way to navigate the parks and minimize your wait times for attractions is with
Genie+ purchase. With this purchase, you can summon your Genie to help navigate the parks with shorter wait times for attractions with the ability to book Light Lane return times for attractions in all the parks. Guests staying onsite in Walt Disney World will have the ability to make their first Lightning Lane reservation at 7:00 a.m. EST. This is another tool that will help to navigate the busy parks a little easier!
I hope this information was helpful to set your expectations of park capacity as well as some tips to navigate the parks a little easier. Best wishes on your final days of preparation before your big trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Please let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!
See ya real soon,
Nick
