Hey there, Michael! Welcome Home to a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member, and welcome to planDisney! Fall is just around the corner and it's always a fantastic time to visit
Walt Disney World, so I definitely understand the urge to book your next trip. November will be here before we know it, so let's get down to business with the details you need to make some magical plans!
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is a family favorite for us - being able to walk to
Magic Kingdom Park or wander next door to the Contemporary to get some Mickey waffles from
Contempo Cafe is an ideal situation. The resort recently had some scheduled renovations and refurbishments to the studios and villas, and the results look pretty terrific!
Michael, to see how many Vacation Points you'll need to book accommodations at Bay Lake Tower, take a gander at the
Points Charts for the resort. The number of points needed will depend on which category of studio you choose - Theme Park, Preferred (overlooking Bay Lake), or Resort (may have views of the pool, courtyard, or parking areas).
Once you tally up your DVC math, you can book via the Member website, or call
Member Services. Because your dates include the Thanksgiving holiday, which tends to be a very popular travel time, there may not be much availability. In that case, you can set up a
Waitlist for your preferred accommodations.
If you're unable to secure a DVC reservation, another option is to exchange your Vacation Points to stay at a Walt Disney World hotel. DVC Members may use points for bookings at any of the
Disney Collection hotels. The always-helpful crew at Member Services can let you know what's available and handle the transaction to exchange your points for Reservation Points and book the stay. Keep in mind that exchanges carry a one-time, nonrefundable fee (currently $95, subject to change).
I hope this information is helpful, and that you'll be enjoying Thanksgiving at The Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few months! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Michael, and please
come back anytime for tips for a terrific Turkey Day, or questions about maximizing the magic of your DVC Membership.
Stay Magical!
Susan
