Hi Mary,
Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question. You have come to the right place, we are happy to assist as you begin planning your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.
The Walt Disney World website makes planning your visit simple and fun, and the best part is that you can do everything from the comfort of your own home!
When planning your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, I would recommend to start by creating a
My Disney Experience Account. This will help keep all your plans and reservations in one place, provide useful tools throughout the planning process and during your visit as well. It looks like you have a date in mind for your visit, so you are already off to a good start. First, you will need to make a decision regarding accommodations. On the Walt Disney World Website, click on the Places to Stay tab, for an overview of the different
Walt Disney World Resort hotels available for booking. There are so many different options, this is always the most difficult part for my family! Guests can choose from several options: Deluxe Resort Hotels, Moderate Resort Hotels or Value Resort Hotels. After choosing your preference, there will be a drop down menu for you to add your vacation dates. Once you have added dates, the available Resort Hotels will appear on your screen. Look through your different options, and simply follow the prompts as you narrow down your choices.
Once you have selected your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you will be prompted to add Theme Park Tickets, if you chose the Disney Resort Hotel Package. At this point you will need to consider how many days you would like to visit a Theme Park, don't forget to plan for your arrival and departure dates, depending on what time of day you plan to arrive and depart. Next, follow the prompts to make your selections through a few more pages, and then proceed to check out. At this point you will be required to pay a deposit to reserve your reservation, and you will receive a confirmation email shortly after. In My Disney Experience, you will see your Reservation under My Plans, which will also provide you with the reservation details and other important information regarding your stay.
Finally, don't forget to make a
Theme Park Reservation using Disney's Park Pass System to reserve your entry into one of the four Theme Parks for each day you have purchased tickets. Guests need both a valid Theme Park Ticket and a Theme Park Reservation for the same day. At this point, relax, the hard work is complete! Take some time to figure out which Attractions you would like to enjoy, as well as where you would like to dine.
Advanced Dining Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, and are highly recommended, as most Dining Locations are extremely popular.
When planning, keep an eye out for
Special Offers, Walt Disney World Resort offers some great promotions during the year for guests to save on their vacations.
I hope you have a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Mary. Please let us know if you have any other questions while you continue to plan your visit, we are happy to help!
