Hello Marisa,
Dining in Downtown Disney is a great idea for getting a great meal after coming off your exciting Disney Cruise. While many of the restaurants accept the Disney Dining Plan, let me offer my suggestions from my favorites.
Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant is an exceptional restaurant with a lively atmosphere that serves Irish classics such as Shepherd's Pie and Fish and Chips. However, my favorite dish is the Lambo, a lamb shank with rosemary au jus and mashed potatoes and carrots. It was simply mouth-watering. Depending on the time of day you visit, you might be able to catch the entertaining dancers and singers. I highly recommend this place and don't think you'll be disappointed.
Another fantastic table-service restaurant is
Paradiso 37, Taste of the Americas. This take on the flavors of North and South American countries has guests coming back time and time again. The Chorizo and Beef Skewers are my personal favorite appetizer as well as the Baja Fish Tacos. Live music in the evenings also make this a really fun place to hang out.
While you mentioned that you prefer a "sit down" restaurant, I would like to also mention
Earl of Sandwich, which is a quick-service place. I have to stop here almost every trip. The sandwiches are unique and absolutely worth it. My personal favorite is the Original 1762, a roast beef and horseradish sandwich. Fairly simple but packed with flavor! This is also one of the few places open for breakfast at Downtown Disney.
Have a magical trip!
