Hi Sandi!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR!
Oooooh,
Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort is ALWAYS a good idea. Be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog by following
their social media pages so you'll be sure to find out when dates for
Oogie Boogie Bash are released, as well as all of the
frightfully fun seasonal eats!
There are a few different reasons why you're seeing some differences in availability, but the biggest is because Disney only gets so many of those rooms at each
Good Neighbor Hotel per night, and the hotels themselves retain the other rooms to sell themselves. Some hotels may have agreements that Disney only gets so many rooms that could fit your party and those are already booked as Halloween time is
very popular. But it's also possible that Disney hasn't opened those rooms for booking in their system just yet; the typical time frame for Disney to open hotel reservations is four months out, but for more popular times of year those bookings open up a lot sooner. Pretty much keep checking and when you see one that works for your group, book it asap.
Another aspect that I don't super like is when the Disney booking system asks how many are in your party, it's assuming that you're going to put everyone in the same room, so the results are only going to show large rooms that can hold all six of you. If you're looking for two reservations with one room for two of your adults and a second room for the other two adults and two kids, try sEARching for two separate bookings. If, however, you do want a single reservation with one room where everyone can slumber party together, your best bets are going to be the hotels that feature suites. What I like about using the
Good Neighbor Hotel booking portal through Disney's website is that you can look for various features that are important to you, like free breakfast or even walking distance to Disneyland. If you're looking for one room for everyone, a lot of your options include two queen or king-sized beds for the adults and bunk beds for the kiddos, like the Courtyard Theme Park Entrance or the Element by Westin. But my current favorite option for a large party is a Kids Suite at the Cambria because these rooms have a kitchenette, two bathrooms, and include breakfast.
