Hi Danielle, welcome to planDisney! It's such an exciting year at the Disneyland Resort, with so many events and celebrations on the horizon. You'll be visiting just as
Halloween Time kicks off!
Daily entertainment usually appears on the
Hours & Events Calendar about six weeks in advance, so we should know around mid-July which parades and shows will be scheduled during your visit. That said, we have an idea of what's to come.
The Disney Parks Blog mentioned in its
Guide to the 70th Anniversary that both the
Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular and the
Better Together parade will temporarily pause to make way for seasonal entertainment. At Disneyland, the
Halloween Screams show is scheduled to return on August 22, featuring projections and haunting tunes, as well as fireworks on select nights. Last Halloween season, the show had a part near the end when everyone joined in to give a spooky "scream" – it was a very festive atmosphere!
I'm guessing the Better Together parade will pause to make way for the Frightfully Fun parade that is part of the
Oogie Boogie Bash. That's a separately ticketed after-hours event that is synonymous with Halloween! Speaking of, it looks like there will be
Oogie Boogie Bash events during your visit. You can expect California Adventure to close a little earlier than normal on August 24 and 26. You can plan to spend time at Disneyland those nights or consider purchasing a ticket to the event for some grim, grinning fun!
Danielle, I'm excited about everything related to the 70th Anniversary Celebration, but at the top of my list is the return of the
Paint the Night Parade. It's one of my favorite parades, literally painting the streets of Disneyland with the glow of more than a million colorful LED lights. This show wasn't mentioned in the blog article I referenced above, so there's a chance it may continue during the Halloween season, but we won't know for sure until the dates get closer.
The good news is that the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will last through summer 2026, so even if you don't get to experience all of the special entertainment during this visit, you'll still have time to plan another trip before the festivities end.
Danielle, I know your Halloween Time trip will be the perfect mix of fun, delightfully spooky, and simply magical. I recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog as well as the
Disneyland account on Instagram to stay in the know as more details emerge about what's coming to Disneyland Resort this year. And, of course, if you have any other questions ahead of your trip, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney.
See ya real soon,
Kriss
