I am trying to figure out the best option for us to travel from Orlando airport to Fort Wilderness cabins. We have two adults and 4 kids (10, 8, 6, and 3). Does the Minnie Van service fit all of us? It was unclear when I tried to search online.

    Howdy Jenny!

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by as you prepare for your "glamping" adventure to the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Let's discuss getting your whole crew from the airport to Walt Disney World.

Unfortunately, Minnie Van™ service between Orlando International Airport and the Walt Disney World Resort is currently unavailable. Follow the Disney Parks Blog and planDisney on social media for updates on this and all resort offerings. Once you arrive for your vacation, I'm happy to report that a standard Minnie Van™ will accommodate up to six travelers, so your entire family can ride together to and from select on-property locations.

Regarding airport transportation, you have several options. If you're interested in visiting offsite destinations or want to make a grocery store stop to stock up on the bare necessities on your way to "the Fort," consider renting a car. Do you prefer to rely on resort transportation during your stay? No problem! My family sometimes secures a one-way rental that we only use to travel from the airport to our hotel (with a stop or two for essentials along the way). We leave the car at the Car Care Center near Magic Kingdom Park if we want it for only part of our vacation. You can also pick up a rental at the Car Care Center if you need it for the return trip, and Disney provides a complimentary shuttle to and from their rental car facility.

Another option is to use a ride share service like Uber or Lyft. Both companies offer large vehicles that can take up to six passengers, and in Orlando, you will find some with a car seat for your 3-year-old. Alternatively, if you want to avoid packing a car seat or finding a vehicle equipped with one, Mears Connect provides comfortable motor coach transportation from Orlando International Airport to area hotels. You can reserve your seat on their website in advance or book at the counter upon arrival. Mears Connect is located in Terminals B and C on the ground transportation level.

I hope this is helpful and gives you some ideas for traveling to your resort from the airport, Jenny. Because of its remote location, I prefer to have a personal vehicle at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, so renting a car for your entire stay would be my top choice in your situation. Thanks again for visiting us at planDisney, and if there is anything else we can do to make your vacation even more memorable, don't hesitate to get in touch again.

You've got a friend in me,
