I am trying to use my Disney vacation club points to reserve a camp ground site for February 2018. But each time I call I am told it's not yet available. Do you know a date it might open to book? No one seems to be able to offer the information

    Hi Christa,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical vacations!

I can completely understand why you want to stay at the campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. My family loves to spend some vacation time at Disney's Fort Wilderness!  There are so many recreation options, from canoeing to horseback riding, and so many great activities such as Chip 'N' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long. This is a wonderful resort!

As Disney Vacation Club members, it is fantastic that we can exchange in our vacation points for reservation points using the Disney Collection and book so many Walt Disney World resort hotels. You can start to book a Disney Collection vacation 11 months in advance of your check-in date; however, that is subject to there being accommodations available through the Disney Collection for your dates and resort. I spoke with a cast member at Disney Vacation Club today, and she let me know that if you are not seeing availability for your February 2018 vacation dates now, it could be released at a later time into the Disney Collection. There is no one specific time at which these become available, and it can be multiple times.

My best advice for you if this is the location that you want is to keep calling member services at 1-800-800-9800 and asking if there is availability. If this is not suitable for you, consider looking into another resort that has availability currently. I know you were looking for a campsite, but perhaps there is a cabin available at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort for your dates.

Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Christa.
