Hello there, Tara, and welcome to planDisney!
You can’t go wrong when visiting Disney World for the holidays, especially at the start of the New Year. While the weather may be chillier than normal, it’s usually the practically perfect temperature for enjoying the holidays outdoors. Many of the December visitors have returned home by January, so there are fewer people to share the theme parks with. I am a
huge fan of
Disney Jollywood Nights and would love to give you my opinion about which night I think would be better.
Continuing on the idea of many Guests celebrating the winter holidays in December, I can assume that the Jollywood Nights January 2027 dates will, in general, have fewer partiers. The busiest nights tend to be the first night (a lot of Guests want to share the offerings with the world on social media) and those closer to Christmas Day. This is the first time that January dates have been available for this party, so it is a bit of a mystery. But my gut is saying that most won’t wait until the later parties to partake in the festivities.
If I had to choose between the two dates (January 3 or 5), I would go with the final night. Locals, like me and my children, will be back to school by then and most of the other Disney World holiday fun will be settling down. Final days for events like
EPCOT festivals tend to be busier because they are included in daytime park tickets. However, a paid, after hours event like Jollywood Nights will most likely be much calmer than those initial nights. Of course, this is all based on my personal experiences at Jollywood Nights and observations of park attendance trends.
AN EXTRA GEM: To get the most out of Jollywood Nights, I highly recommend that you arrive before the party starts. With a ticket, you can enter the theme park as early as 5:30 p.m., which gives you an additional 2 hours. Be sure to check out the exclusive party experiences like meeting rare characters like Lotso and Santa Stitch and seeing shows like the Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along.
Tara, I hope that you have a jolly time celebrating the holidays at
Hollywood Studios! If any other planning questions come to mind, please don’t hesitate to
revisit us here at planDisney. See you real soon!
Magic always,
LeAndra
