Trying to decide between wilderness lodge or port orleans french quarter. port orleans fits better in our budget but really need good transportation to parks with 2 small kids so we are willing to spend the money if it is that much better. Thoughts?

    Hi Emily!

The Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite resorts in all of Walt Disney World! I love the architecture and ambiance of the entire resort. That being said, it really is a bit more than staying at the Port Orleans Resort.

One of the best parts of being on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel is learning so much about WDW and getting first hand information from friends who have stayed at the resorts! I have heard some wonderful things about Port Orleans! There is a really wonderful charm about the resort and not only that, it has just recently been refurbished so it's like it's brand new!

Staying at Wilderness Lodge will save you time getting to Magic Kingdom but Port Orleans is much closer to the rest of the theme parks so travel time is actually in favor of Port Orleans. I myself would save the extra money spent and save it for the trip for souvenirs and eating in the parks! I hope you and your family have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel! If you have more questions, we are always here to help!
