    We are trying to decide whether it would be economical to rent a car or should we rely on shuttle services? We are a party of 7 with 3 young children and we are staying about 10 miles from MK.

    Hi Ashleigh!  I would certainly recommend you rent a car for this visit since you will be staying quite a few miles away from the parks.  Various shuttle services are available to different locations but you are at their mercy as far as when you can go and when you can be picked up.  With a three year old it would be much nicer to have control of your time versus having to stand and wait.  I think you will find the parking fees worth the ability to come and go as you wish!
